The Area Agency on Aging delivers numerous services such as: **Adult Protection - Legal assistance and investigations. **Family Caregiver Support Program - Providing assistance, information, respite care, support, and additional services. **Ombudsmen - Serving as advocates for seniors in assisted living or skilled nursing environments. **Support Services - Including Information and Assistance, outreach programs, and adult day care. **Options Counseling and Benefits Counseling. **Supporting grandparents and other relatives who take on parenting roles for children during their parents' temporary or permanent absence or neglect. Transportation services facilitate travel for seniors to various locations such as senior centers, meal programs, employment sites, shopping areas, community events, adult day care centers, and social service agencies for service applications. Emphasis is placed on LIVING with Dementia, with Dementia Skills training aimed at equipping caregivers with practical knowledge and tools to enhance the quality of life for individuals with dementia, focusing on their unique experiences during the middle stages of the condition. The Idaho Commission on Aging also advocates for seniors to maintain their independence, prevent institutionalization, and live free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
