Fraud Investigations - Region 1

The Welfare Fraud Investigation Unit investigates all clients and non-Medicaid providers receiving public assistance funds as either clients or service providers. These investigations usually begin with complaints from the public or program employees and may result in identifying overpayments, intentional program violations, or even prosecution. To report suspected fraud, you can choose from the following methods: Online: Go to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's website and find the "Report Fraud" section. Phone: Contact the Public Assistance Fraud Hotline at 866-935-7515, where calls are answered by the 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine, available Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Mountain Time).
