Idaho Drug Free Youth Inc

Idaho Drug Free Youth (IDFY) serves as a statewide initiative focused on preventing drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, led by middle and high school students. Its primary goal is to inform, inspire, and assist young people in refraining from substance use. IDFY has various chapters across the state, managed by the youth participants with guidance from advisors. Participants pledge to stay away from substances and affirm their commitment through voluntary urinalysis. They are issued a photo ID card that grants them discounts and rewards from local businesses statewide. This program adheres to the Safe and Drug Free School Principles of Effectiveness set by the State Department of Education and is informed by Hawkins and Catalano's research on risk and protective factors.
