KACF is dedicated to enhancing community collaboration and prevention strategies, fostering community involvement, and organizing events with partners to share essential information with youth, their families, and the wider community. Over the past fourteen years, KACF has taken the lead in overseeing and providing resources for numerous ongoing prevention activities and services. Notable programs include: **Kids Day in the Park**, **The North Idaho Family Magazine**, **The Idaho Youth Summit**, **The GAP Program in the Post Falls School District**, **Strengthening Families Program**, **UN Convention on Rights of The Child Seminars**, **Lunch & Learn Trainings**, **Walk Into Reading**, **Darkness To Light**, **DUI Youth & Adult Victims Panels**, **Real Teen, Reel Change Video Contest**, and **Community Mapping Project**. The mission of the Kootenai Alliance For Children & Families is to foster healthy families by promoting community collaboration aimed at reducing substance abuse among youth and eliminating service duplication. Their goals include decreasing substance abuse in Kootenai County youth through evidence-based programs that target the region's primary risk factors, educating and providing resources for parents and community partners, and assessing program activities that tackle key risk and protective factors.
