Rathdrum Lions Club

The Rathdrum Lions Club supports those who cannot afford eye exams, eyeglasses, and hearing aids. They have set up collection boxes for used eyewear and hearing devices at the Lakeland Eye Clinic and Rathdrum Library. Hearing aids are thoroughly cleaned and tested, while eyeglasses are washed, calibrated, and sent to developing countries for reuse. Additionally, the club offers training and guide dogs through Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Hills, Michigan, which can be explored at Leaderdog.org. They also provide food to elementary school children from families facing food insecurity, sending meals home every Friday throughout the school year. Furthermore, the club conducts vision screenings for all elementary school students in the community each fall. Languages spoken include English.
