Shoshone Family Medical Center

Shoshone Family Medical Center is a family practice that provides obstetric services along with diabetes education and mental health counseling. Their self-monitoring diabetic education program delivers thorough training based on ADA national standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education. This program covers various topics such as diabetes fundamentals, stress management, family support, nutrition, physical activity, medication management, monitoring techniques, and the interplay between nutrition, exercise, medication, and blood glucose levels. It also addresses the prevention and management of both acute and chronic complications, foot and dental care, behavior change strategies, and preconception care related to gestational diabetes. Additionally, Shoshone Family Medical Center is the only facility in the Magic Valley that can download data from all blood glucose monitors for printed memory results. The program aims to help participants successfully integrate self-management into their daily lives. Services are available in Spanish (ask for Licet).
