The Regional Children and Family Services Program handles and assesses reports concerning child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. When needed, it offers suitable services to meet family needs. This program evaluates reported cases of child abuse, which may involve assessing family members and/or the affected child. It also assists in obtaining counseling for victims, parents, perpetrators, and others involved. Child protective services are provided at no cost. Additionally, the program licenses foster homes and offers some adoption services, and is managed by the Division of Family and Community Services.
