This initiative focuses on leadership and advocacy for the senior population in Idaho, overseeing federally and state-funded programs that assist older residents in maintaining their independence, safety, and dignity. PROGRAMS AND SERVICES include: **Adult Protection - Investigative and legal support. **Family Caregiver Support Program - Offers assistance, information, respite, support, and additional services. **In-Home Services - Provides case management, homemaker services, home-delivered meals, and caregiver respite. **Medicare Education - Aids in understanding Medicare and resolving billing issues, along with enrollment assistance. **Nutrition Services - Includes a directory of Senior Centers, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, and nutritional education and counseling. **Older Worker Programs - Offers occupational training and work experience opportunities. **Ombudsmen - Advocates for elderly individuals in skilled nursing facilities. **Support Services - Provides information, assistance, outreach, transportation, and adult day care. **Additional Programs & Services - Includes telephone reassurance and shopping assistance. **KinCare Coalition - Supports grandparents and other relatives who care for children during the absence or neglect of parents. **Alzheimer's information is also available. The Idaho Commission on Aging oversees contracts with Area Agency on Aging offices. Available languages include English, German, and Russian. Intake Procedure: Call for details.
