About this resource

The Idaho Physical Activity & Nutrition Program collaborates with childcare providers and workplaces to enhance nutrition standards and physical activity guidelines. The Fit and Fall Proof Program is specifically designed for older adults aiming to boost their health and decrease fall risks, offering volunteer-led exercise sessions that enhance balance through improved flexibility, strength, and endurance. Additionally, the Oral Health Program focuses on promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases through local initiatives managed by the state's seven district health departments. The Tobacco Prevention, Control, and Cessation Program aims to deter tobacco use among youth, support cessation efforts, and create smoke-free environments for nonsmokers. Funded by the Idaho Tobacco Millennium Funds, local health departments provide free cessation classes for pregnant women, youth, and adults. The Comprehensive Cancer Control Program educates the public on cancer prevention and the importance of early detection through regular screenings. Furthermore, the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program collaborates with schools to educate students on preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Fit and Fall Proof™ (FFP) is an exercise-based fall prevention initiative for older adults in Idaho, focusing on enhancing strength, mobility, and balance to mitigate the risk of falls. Services are available in English, with interpreters accessible upon request. For intake procedures, please reach out for more information.
