Fraud Investigations - Region 2

The Welfare Fraud Investigation Unit investigates clients and non-Medicaid providers receiving public assistance funds for services. These investigations often start from complaints made by the public or program employees and may result in identifying overpayments, intentional violations of programs, or legal action. To report suspected fraud, you can choose from several methods: Online by visiting the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's website and going to the "Report Fraud" section; by phone at the Public Assistance Fraud Hotline at 866-935-7515, where calls are managed by the 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Mountain Time), with after-hours calls going to voicemail; or via email at Questions@dhw.idaho.gov.
