Head Start (Lewiston) - Lewis-Clark

Head Start and Early Head Start is a comprehensive preschool initiative available across the nation for pregnant women and families with children aged from birth to 5 years who meet income eligibility criteria. A portion of enrollment, specifically 10%, is allocated for children with disabilities. Applications are accepted for children aged 0 to 5 years from families whose income falls below the poverty line, as well as for children with special needs or those considered at high risk. The program may also accept a limited number of over-income children with special needs. Services provided include assistance with medical, dental, educational, and social needs, all at no cost to eligible families. Documentation required includes proof of income, the child's birthdate, and immunization records. Supportive services offered by Head Start encompass social services, parent involvement, nutrition, mental health, health, education, and disability services. The program aims to enhance and empower the lives of children, families, and communities, helping them navigate life's challenges through quality education and family-centered services.
