About this resource
The Regional Children and Family Services Program is responsible for receiving and assessing reports related to child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. When required, it offers suitable services to address family needs. This program evaluates reported cases of child abuse, which may involve assessing family members and/or the child who has been harmed. It also assists in securing counseling for the victim, parents, the abuser, and others involved. Child protective services are provided at no cost. Additionally, the program oversees the licensing of child care facilities and foster homes, along with offering some adoption services. The Division of Family and Community Services administers this program, which operates in English and can provide interpreters if needed.
