MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS PHONE # 208-533-3145DISTRICT OFFICE: The seven health districts in Idaho work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare and a variety of state and local organizations. Each district has a health board appointed by county commissioners and operates independently of any state agency. They address local demands by offering a range of services that can differ from one district to another. Services include community health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are delivered through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information on available services in your area, reach out to the nearest District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office (Bioterrorism Planning) collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to create a unified statewide strategy for preparing for and responding to bioterrorism and other public health crises.
