This initiative provides leadership and advocacy for the concerns of older Idahoans, overseeing both state and federal programs aimed at helping them maintain their independence, safety, and dignity. It also offers information and referral services for seniors. **PROGRAMS AND SERVICES:** **Adult Protection** - Investigates and provides legal aid. **Family Caregiver Support Program** - Offers assistance, information, respite, support, and additional services. **In-Home Services** - Includes case management, homemaker services, home-delivered meals, and caregiver respite. **Nutrition Services** - Provides a directory of Senior Centers, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, along with education and counseling. **Aging and Disability Resource Center** - Supplies information and assistance regarding long-term care. **Ombudsmen** - Advocates for elderly individuals in care facilities. **Support Services** - Offers information, outreach, and transportation assistance. **Grandparents as Parents Support Group** - Aids grandparents and other adults who take on parenting roles during parents' absence or neglect. **Foster Grandparent Program** - Encourages volunteering in local schools. **Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)** - Engages senior volunteers in community service using their skills. **Senior Companion Program** - Facilitates seniors assisting other seniors to stay independent. The Idaho Commission on Aging oversees contracts with Area Agency on Aging offices. Available languages include English and Spanish.
