MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS PHONE # 208-737-5981DISTRICT OFFICE: The seven health districts in Idaho collaborate closely with the Department of Health and Welfare and several other state and local organizations. Each district is governed by a board of health appointed by county commissioners and operates independently of state agencies. They address local requirements by offering diverse services that can differ from one district to another. These services include community health nursing, home health care, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are delivered through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information about available services in your area, reach out to your local District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office (Bioterrorism Planning) collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to develop a unified statewide strategy for preparing for and responding to bioterrorism threats and public health crises.
