MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS PHONE # 208-737-5981DISTRICT OFFICE: The seven health districts in Idaho work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare along with various state and local organizations. Each district operates independently and has a health board appointed by county commissioners. They cater to local requirements by offering a diverse range of services that can differ from one district to another. These services include community and home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs. Many of these services are delivered through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information about available services in your area, reach out to your local District Health Department. The office for Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems (Bioterrorism Planning) collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to develop a comprehensive statewide strategy for responding to bioterrorism and public health emergencies. These vaccinations are often low-cost or free for parents who cannot afford them. Overseas immunizations are available by appointment. Contact your local health department to determine which vaccines are necessary for specific travel destinations. Adult vaccines, such as Td boosters, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, pneumonia, and influenza vaccines, may also be offered.
