Vocational Rehabilitation - Twin Falls

The Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation operates under the governance of the Idaho State Board of Education, focusing primarily on employment. It offers personalized vocational guidance and counseling along with additional services to help individuals with disabilities make informed career choices, ultimately leading to successful employment. The Division oversees two key programs: the End Stage Renal Disease Program and the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. For those with end-stage renal disease, the Division provides a state-supported medical assistance program that manages both medical and financial needs, considering the individual's ability to pay when determining eligibility. Additionally, it serves kidney patients who are able to work through the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. The Division collaborates with the Department of Health and Welfare's Mental Health Program to assist individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, employing a team approach to help them integrate into the workforce. Assertive Community Action (ACT) teams are established statewide to support this initiative. Furthermore, VR aids students with disabilities in transitioning from school to work by maintaining partnerships with schools across the state, allowing students to apply for services directly with school referrals, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. For public offenders, VR has developed a proactive program to assist inmates with disabilities in reintegrating into the community, working closely with clients, the Department of Probation and Parole, and medical professionals to facilitate their return to the workforce. The Division has developed significant expertise in this area, resulting in a high success rate for rehabilitation, reduced institutional costs, and overall community benefits. Any individual with a disability that hinders their ability to work is eligible to apply. Services are available in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
