The Justice of Peace deals with misdemeanor offenses, traffic violations, parking fines, small claims cases, evictions, and other civil issues. They also manage felony and gross misdemeanor arraignments and conduct preliminary hearings to evaluate if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial at the District Court.
