About this resource
The internship program provides mentorship that fosters a deeper understanding of oneself, enhances coping mechanisms, promotes positive decision-making, and builds trust-based relationships. Participants gain access to up to 2 hours daily of peer mentoring and mental health support from interns who are on their path to obtaining PRSS certification. Each intern holds a PRSS-I status and is progressing towards achieving both PRSS and Community Health Worker Level 1 certifications. Peer support is available at the agency/site or can be scheduled at the NAMI Northern Nevada office or other partner locations. This program serves youth aged 11-17 and adults aged 18-55, with services offered in English.
