This program offers Peer Mentorship specifically for parents and pregnant women facing substance use disorders. Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists, who have firsthand experience with recovery and child welfare involvement, guide and advocate for these individuals. They leverage their own successful reunification experiences to assist other parents. Peer Mentors provide essential mentorship, support, and advocacy, while exemplifying recovery and stability. They collaborate closely with the Safe Babies Court in Washoe County and the Carson City team to aid parents in progressing with their cases. Additionally, they offer peer mentorship to parents involved in child dependency cases upon request from Safe Babies Court teams when extra support is deemed beneficial. Outreach services are also available for pregnant women grappling with substance use, helping them access resources to start or continue their recovery journey. Language support includes access to translation services in English.
