Hunger Solutions New York - Nutrition Consortium

Community Resource

Serves: Albany, Albany County

About this resource

Congregate Meals are available in group settings throughout New York State, facilitated by Area Agencies on Aging. These meals cater to individuals aged 60 and above, including their spouses of any age, without any income restrictions, and are provided up to five days a week. Each meal meets at least one-third of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for nutrition. There are more than 1,000 meal sites across the state, typically found in senior centers, clubs, senior housing complexes, town halls, and various community venues. Many service providers also extend additional offerings such as health and wellness programs, nutrition education, recreational activities, and transportation to dining locations. However, due to funding constraints, there may be waiting lists for these nutrition services.
