About this resource
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households with their energy expenses. If you qualify, you may receive one standard HEAP benefit each program year and may also qualify for emergency HEAP assistance if you risk running out of fuel or having your utility service disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit became available on November 1, 2024. The First and Second Emergency HEAP benefits are set to open on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit started on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also opened on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to launch on April 15, 2025.

Who can use this
- Regular HEAP: Available to low-income families, individuals aged 60 and older, and those with permanent disabilities receiving Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing an emergency.
