The department includes three primary divisions: Income Maintenance, which covers Temporary Assistance, TANF (partially federally funded), Safety Net (partially state funded), Food Stamps, Medicaid, HEAP, employment programs, Child Care Block Grant, child support, emergency programs, and homeless assistance services; Foster care, preventive services, adoption, CPS, CCSI, adult protective services, and long-term care services; as well as administration, resource recovery, records retention, network technology, accounting, staff development, security, legal matters, fraud, and special projects like implementing TANF allocations when available.
