About this resource
Cortland administers various assistance programs such as public assistance, Medicaid, Food Stamps (SNAP), emergency aid, HEAP, daycare, and employment services aimed at helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency. Additionally, starting from November 3, 2023, if temperatures or wind chill drop below 32 degrees, two warming centers will be available: Grace & Holy Spirit Church at 13 Court St, open Monday to Friday from 4:30 PM to 8 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 8 PM, as well as The Salvation Army at 138 S Main St (back entrance), open daily from 8 PM to 8 AM.
