About this resource
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households cover their energy expenses. If you qualify, you can receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and may also qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if you face the risk of running out of fuel or having your utility service disconnected. The Regular HEAP benefit for 2024-2025 became available on November 1, 2024. The First and Second Emergency benefits are set to launch on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also started on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to begin on April 15, 2025. Intake Procedure: Call for Information. Fees: None/Not Applicable.
Who can use this
- Regular HEAP is available to low-income households, seniors aged 60 and older, and individuals with permanent disabilities receiving Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing emergencies.
