After School Program - West Side Community Services

This after-school enrichment initiative caters to children in grades K-6 and includes a daily hot meal. It features evidence-based programming focused on preventing violence, drug use, and alcohol abuse, teaching participants alternative methods for conflict resolution and emotional expression. Workshops cover topics such as anger management, conflict resolution, empathy training, and problem-solving. Additionally, the program incorporates health and wellness activities, academic support for school subjects and homework, and creative arts and crafts sessions.

Intake Procedure: Parents or caregivers are required to submit a completed application, which can be obtained at the office or on the website. A vaccination record is also necessary.

Fees: Fees are determined based on income, and West Side Community Services assists families in applying for financial aid through the Child Care Assistance Program provided by the Erie County Department of Social Services. To be eligible for this financial aid, a completed application for the Child Care Assistance Program must be submitted to DSS. Applications can be found at the West Side Community Services office and on the DSS website.
