Be Safe Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program - Erie County District Attorney

This domestic violence initiative features a team of advocates and social workers situated within the Erie County District Attorney's Office. It offers supportive counseling, resources, case management, and safety planning specifically for survivors of Intimate Partner Violence. The program focuses on advocacy in criminal courts and assists survivors in exploring their options, irrespective of having an active criminal case. All services are provided free of charge to individuals identifying as victims of Domestic Violence. Available services include the BE SAFE Hotline, court accompaniment and advocacy, counseling, crisis case management, safety planning assistance, and information on referrals for counseling, housing, and other resources. Additionally, it helps with communication with the Assistant District Attorney and police, addresses medical, housing, employment, and financial needs, provides education on abuse, assists in filing Family Court Family Offense petitions, and offers registration for the VINE program to receive offender release information.

Intake Procedure: Individuals can walk in or call for more details or to schedule an appointment. Referrals are accepted through Buffalo City Court.
