About this resource
The method for obtaining children's mental health community-based services includes various steps to establish the necessary level of service recommendations. This may involve a phone screening, a meeting for child/family assessment, collaboration with the referral source and existing providers, reviewing records, and presenting to the SPOA Committee for service planning.
Intake Procedure: A referral packet is sent to the SPOA Coordinator; records are examined to confirm eligibility, and additional information may be requested.

Who can use this
- Families with children aged 5 to 17 who display significant behaviors, are at risk of hospitalization or out-of-home placement, are engaged with multiple systems, and have unmet needs in their natural environment are eligible.
