About this resource
This initiative delivers urgent financial support to at-risk individuals who exceed the HEAP income eligibility criteria and are facing challenges in covering their heating-related energy expenses. Qualified participants will be granted one $200 aid during the winter heating period. However, Hope & Warmth Energy Fund grants cannot be utilized to restore service for those whose accounts have been shut off due to non-payment by National Grid. Each customer is limited to one grant per program year/season, and these funds cannot be used to help establish service with National Grid. The program also offers a 30-day protection against disconnection for non-payment or collection efforts. HeartShare Human Services of New York manages this program.

Fees: Clients are encouraged to call for further information regarding fees.
Who can use this
- To qualify, applicants must be New York residents with an active National Grid account, meet the specified income guidelines, live in a one- or two-family home, possess a valid National Grid disconnect notice, and have an overdue balance exceeding $300.
