Delivers crisis intervention and suicide hotline assistance while offering extensive information and referrals to local human services. It maintains a current and thorough community resource database that includes over 6400 agencies and programs, covering areas such as housing, food, shelter, mental health, substance abuse, employment, education, health services, criminal justice, legal resources, and additional family and community support. Accredited by the American Association of Suicidology and the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems, it acts as the central hub for the 211 Finger Lakes Region, collaborating with two partner sites to provide information and referral services across a 13-county area in the Finger Lakes, which includes Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Schuyler, Steuben, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates Counties. The 211/LIFE LINE handles all after-hours, weekend, and holiday calls for the region and also contracts with external clients to offer phone response and live chat services for various human service and hotline initiatives. Additionally, it is a core participant in the 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline network, accepting regional calls from this national hotline and contributing to its Crisis Chat Services.
