About this resource
The SAFE Program is designed to ensure that seniors do not experience a lack of heating during the winter months through emergency oil deliveries. Eligible seniors in Nassau County can receive 100 gallons of fuel oil in case of an emergency, with this assistance available only once per season. The program also helps to identify clients who may require additional case management or support from the Department of Social Services.
Intake Procedure: It is preferred that clients call for more information.
Fees: There are no fees involved.
Who can use this
- Seniors aged 60 and above who reside in Nassau County, are responsible for their fuel oil expenses, have low income but are not receiving SSI, and have a fuel tank that is less than 1/4 full.
