The Day Habilitation Program is a component of OMRDD's Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) that caters to individuals with a diverse range of intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program aims to help participants foster meaningful connections and relationships within their communities. It operates on the premise that every individual is an integral part of the community. Through skill development and staff assistance, the program encourages individuals to engage with their community, participate in work and volunteer opportunities, and develop essential skills for supported employment. Volunteer placements enable participants to give back to their communities while enhancing their capabilities. Additionally, the program addresses social, recreational, and clinical needs. Part-time attendance is available for those involved in supported activities across 28 small community-based sites in Nassau County.

Intake Procedure: An application must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Fees: The program is free for Nassau County residents over 21 years old with a developmental disability, with proof of Medicaid eligibility required. A parent or guardian must sign the application.
