Preschool Special Education Program - Niagara County Department Of Health

The program supports preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 who have been recognized by their local school district's Committee on Preschool Special Education as having a disability, based on evaluations that assess the child's specific needs. Services, which are provided at no cost to families, are tailored to the child's requirements and may include in-home support such as adapted physical education, behavior management, case management, service coordination, counseling, developmental disabilities screening, preschool education, feeding and swallowing assistance, nursing services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social skills training, social work, and speech, language, and hearing services.

To initiate the process, parents or caregivers should call for more information and must reach out to the local school district where the child lives.

All services are offered free of charge.
