Oneida County Department Of Mental Health

This initiative serves as a Single Point of Access/Accountability (SPOA/A) to evaluate an individual's mental health or substance abuse needs. It also facilitates referrals for mental health housing and supportive services, which encompass Community Residences and Supportive Housing programs. Additionally, supportive services include Health Home Care Management, Intensive Case Management, and ACT Team. The program offers referrals to outpatient community mental health services and clinics for assessment and treatment across various mental health issues, but does not refer to private therapists or provide direct services. It also temporarily covers medication costs for individuals with mental illness transitioning from local jails or hospitals who have applied for Medicaid (as per Chapter 15 of Kendra's Law). The Medication Grant program allocates funds to counties for covering mental health medications (and some additional medications) while individuals await their Medicaid activation.
