About this resource
This service, mandated by the state, is offered in every county to ensure that vulnerable adults can live safely in their communities or in the least restrictive settings. It includes the intake, investigation, and evaluation of reports concerning abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of eligible adults. Workers from the Adult Protective Services (APS) create service plans with clients to address issues such as physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, or to meet essential needs that are unmet.
Intake Procedure: Concerns or complaints can be reported via phone, fax, or email.
Fees: There are no charges for this service.
Who can use this
- Adults aged 18 and older who have physical or mental impairments and are at risk of harm, with no one available to assist them responsibly.
