This initiative serves as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization by providing safe, supportive community houses staffed with personnel that offer person-centered peer support and a retreat for individuals experiencing emotional or near crisis situations for a duration of up to seven days. Guests are encouraged to self-refer, allowing them the freedom to come and go as they choose, and they have access to peer counseling and educational resources around the clock to help navigate challenging times. A mobile response team is also available for residents of Dutchess County. The Hospital Diversion Houses have successfully aided numerous individuals in achieving wellness while preserving their independence within the community.
