About this resource
HEAP provides emergency assistance for households experiencing a heating or related energy crisis. It also offers benefits for homeowners needing repair or replacement of inoperable heating systems. This program is based on income eligibility. The Regular HEAP benefit for 2024-2025 commenced on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to open on January 2, 2025. The Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit began on October 1, 2024, and the Clean and Tune benefit also started on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to open on April 15, 2025.

Who can use this
- New income eligibility criteria are released at the start of the heating season (mid-November to mid-March). Please contact our office or the NYS HEAP Hotline at 800-342-3009 to check your eligibility.
