About this resource
LINK is a focused, short-term crisis intervention service designed to assist families facing crises by stabilizing their home environment and connecting them to community-based therapeutic resources for ongoing support. Utilizing a psychoeducational framework, the program incorporates cognitive, behavioral, and client-centered strategies. It aims to enhance both family and individual functioning by equipping families with essential skills to stay united and avert psychiatric hospitalization for children and adolescents in Suffolk County. Referrals are primarily accepted through Suffolk's Children's Mobile Crisis Team and Stony Brook University Hospital's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). Additionally, LINK can be accessed from all Suffolk County Emergency Rooms, WellLife Network directly, and Suffolk County Mental Health Clinics.
Intake Procedure: Clients are encouraged to call the agency for more information.
Fees: No cost.
Who can use this
- Youth aged 5-18 who reside in Suffolk County and are at imminent risk of psychiatric hospitalization, as determined by a licensed psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner, are eligible with a required referral.
