Town Of Brookhaven Division Of Senior Citizens Services
Community Resource
About this resource
This initiative caters to residents aged 60 and older by delivering nutritious meals directly to their homes. The meal options are designed by a registered dietitian in alignment with Health Department Meal Service Standards. Volunteers collaborate with the Jitney transportation service to ensure the meals reach recipients. To apply for the Home Delivered Meals service, individuals should contact or visit the nearest Nutrition Site, where a Nutrition Program Manager will schedule an assessment appointment. The funding for the Town of Brookhaven Nutrition Program comes from the United States Administration for Community Living via the New York State Office for the Aging and the Suffolk County Office for the Aging.
Intake Procedure: Interested individuals should reach out to the closest Nutrition Site to apply for Home Delivered Meals, after which a Nutrition Program Manager will arrange an assessment appointment.
Fees: A suggested voluntary and anonymous contribution of $2 is encouraged.
