The bureau is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Suffolk County residents, prioritizing preventive care. Its mission aligns with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services, striving to prevent illness, safeguard public health, and provide high-quality, equitable, and affordable health services to the county's most at-risk populations. Some of the programs offered include Prenatal/Postpartum Care, Child Find, Inborn Metabolic Screening Follow-Up, Chronic Disease Management, Child Abuse/Neglect services, Wound Care, SBIRT and NARCAN training, as well as in-home nursing and rehabilitation services for residents in need of home visits.
