About this resource
This program caters to children between the ages of 5 and 18 who have been diagnosed with severe emotional disorders requiring significant psychiatric assistance. The diagnostic categories encompass various conditions, including attention deficit, anxiety, schizophrenia, paranoia, and affective autism spectrum disorders. Services offered include 6:1:1 or 8:1:1 placements with qualified support staff at the Sayville Academic Center, as well as 8:1:1 placements at Sequoya High School and Jefferson Academic Center. Additionally, psychiatric, rehabilitation, social work, and psychological services are provided. Students who no longer require intensive psychiatric care can continue at their centers and receive counseling from Eastern Suffolk BOCES personnel.
