About this resource

The program aims to fulfill the educational needs of district residents by providing a wide array of valuable courses, workshops, and seminars. Some examples of semester courses include: Men's Basketball, Belly Dance, Ceramics, Crochet, Economics, Financial Workshops, French Travel, Hatha Yoga, Google Drive Skills, Intermediate Italian, Introduction to Computers with Microsoft Office, Knitting, Advanced Microsoft Office, Pickleball, Photography, Indoor Men's Soccer, Small Business Administrative Support, Beginner Spanish, Intermediate/Advanced Spanish, Stretch and Tone with Essentrics, Tai Chi Chi Kung, Watercolor, and Zumba Gold. Additionally, there are Seminars/Food for Thought programs such as How to Excel in Interviews, It’s Not What You Say – It’s How You Say It, Navigating the Medicare Landscape, Savvy IRA Planning for Baby Boomers, and Social Security Planning. Please be aware that senior citizen discounts do not apply to seminars. Courses are also available through Western Suffolk BOCES, including Adult Basic Education (GED) and English as a Second Language classes. Course offerings may change each semester, so it's advisable to call for the latest class listings.

Intake Procedure: Call for details

Fees: Fees are applicable for residents aged 60 and over (except for classes marked as limited or no senior district), while different fees apply to other district residents and additional charges for those outside the Huntington School District.

Who can use this

  • The program primarily serves adults in the community but is accessible to individuals as young as 16 years, depending on availability, with certain exceptions.
