Jefferson Academic Center

This program caters to children and teenagers aged 5-18 who are diagnosed with severe emotional disorders requiring significant psychiatric care. The diagnostic categories encompass attention deficit, anxiety, schizophrenia, paranoia, and affective autism spectrum disorders, among others. Services include 6:1:1 or 8:1:1 placements with qualified support staff at the Sayville Academic Center, as well as 8:1:1 placements at Sequoya High School and Jefferson Academic Center. The program offers psychiatric, rehabilitation, social work, and psychological services. Students who have progressed beyond the need for intensive psychiatric support can continue at their centers, receiving counseling from Eastern Suffolk BOCES staff. Intake procedures and fees are available upon request.
