Social Services assists County residents in attaining self-sufficiency by offering financial and social services to those who qualify. Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) are individuals aged 18-64 receiving SNAP benefits, who are capable of working and do not have dependent children in their homes. Their access to SNAP benefits is limited to a duration of three months within a 36-month timeframe unless they satisfy specific work criteria or qualify for an exemption. Typically, these work requirements necessitate working or engaging in a work program for a minimum of 20 hours weekly (80 hours monthly). There have been numerous issues related to EBT card skimming; thus, it is advisable for users to lock their cards when not in use and unlock them prior to usage.
