Tompkins Community Action (Tca)

The TCAction Supportive Housing Programs assist families and individuals who are homeless by offering permanent housing options along with supportive services. Adopting a Housing First approach, the initiative aims to ensure housing stability while fostering life skills to prevent future homelessness. The program features rental assistance tailored to the household's income. Staff work closely with residents to connect them with community resources, provide support, and help them achieve their goals. TCAction manages specific housing sites such as Chartwell House and Magnolia House, which cater to individuals with chronic homelessness and substance use issues, as well as Amici House and Corn Street Apartments for young adults aged 18 to 25 facing homelessness. In collaboration with the Vecino Group, TCAction also offers supportive services for 40 units at Ithaca Arthaus and Asteri Ithaca, both targeting young adults and those with chronic homelessness. The intake process utilizes COC Coordinated Entry for filling vacancies, with no exceptions, and there are no associated fees.
