Southern Adirondack Independent Living

The center provides a range of assistive devices and durable medical equipment, such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, shower benches/chairs, standing frames, crutches, and canes, available for loan for 30 days or longer based on individual requirements. Additionally, it assists individuals in acquiring necessary devices from other sources and offers training on how to use the equipment. The center also evaluates needs for adaptive computer hardware and software, providing training for specialized computer programs as necessary. Furthermore, SAIL lends assistive devices, durable medical equipment like adaptive car seats, strollers, gait trainers, and developmental toys for children with disabilities. Training is also available for using adaptive switches, communication devices, and environmental controls tailored for children.
