About this resource
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to support eligible households in addressing their energy requirements. If you qualify, you can receive one standard HEAP benefit each program year and may also qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if you face the risk of depleting your fuel supply or having your utility service disconnected. The Regular HEAP benefit for 2024-2025 commenced on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to begin on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit started on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to launch on April 15, 2025.

Who can use this
- Regular HEAP is available to low-income families, individuals aged 60 and older, and those with permanent disabilities receiving Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing an emergency.
