About this resource
This initiative provides financial aid to low-income families who have children, helping them to achieve self-sufficiency. The cash assistance is designed to cover essential needs like food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may have the opportunity to join the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which supports individuals in earning a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be submitted online, via phone, or in person at a local office (note that Processing Centers do not provide in-person services). After submission, the local DHS office will reach out to schedule an interview, which can be conducted in person or over the phone. Applicants are also encouraged to contact the local DHS office to arrange their interview. It is important to note that DHS workers cannot leave messages on voicemails that do not include the applicant's name in the greeting.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this application.
