They offer various services including: -Counseling on veterans' benefits and assistance with claims preparation, along with advocacy during the claims process -Guidance on federal VA benefits and other related state and federal benefits -Help with educational benefit claims -Support for veterans seeking health care enrollment -Aid in obtaining military service documents -Information on service-connected and non-service-related disability benefits and survivor benefits -Burial benefits -Details regarding veteran home loans -Oregon Veterans' Home Conservatorship services, which include comprehensive estate management for eligible individuals designated as "protected persons" under Oregon law.

Who can use this

  • Eligible individuals include veterans with a discharge status other than dishonorable and their immediate family members.

Documents you may need

  • A copy of the veteran's discharge document (DD214 or Honorable Discharge). If these records are not available, the VSO will help get them. If other records are needed, the VSO will let the client know at the initial appointment.
