About this resource

The Employment Related Day Care program (ERDC) provides support to families who are either employed, attending school, or receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) by helping them with child care expenses, including registration fees.

Application Process: You can apply online, via phone, or in person at a nearby ODHS Self Sufficiency Branch Office.

Costs: ERDC operates as a subsidy program, meaning that many families will still need to contribute towards the child care expenses through a copayment. The amount of this copayment is determined by the family's size and income.

Who can use this

To qualify for this program, families must: -Reside in Oregon. -Be employed, enrolled in school, or receiving TANF. -In two-parent households, both parents must be working or studying (this does not apply to TANF recipients). -Some exceptions exist for two-parent families where one parent is unable to provide care due to medical or mental health issues, or if state-mandated supervised contact is necessary. -Require child care to maintain employment, education, or engage in family well-being activities. Have a child who is: -Under 13 years old needing care, or -Aged 13 to 17 with special circumstances requiring care. -Meet income eligibility criteria, with initial limits at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and ongoing/exit limits at 250% FPL.
